27-year-old Aishling O’Connor hails from Aghada in East Cork and is the daughter of Pat and Mary. Having spent four years studying in UCC, she graduated in 2013 with a Masters Degree in Business Economics as well as BA in Irish and Economics. Immediately following her Masters she began working at Apple in Cork in the Operations department.
Outside of work, Aishling has been playing football with Aghada for 15 years and has captained our Junior team twice. She loves to keep both physically and mentally fit and enjoys practicing yoga as well as spinning, running and gymnastics.
Her family is steeped in GAA history with all members having some role to play over the years. 2010 was a memorable year for her family and parish when her brother, Kieran, won an All-Ireland medal with the Cork Senior Footballers.
Her second love is music which has been passed down through generations in her family, from her grandfather, who occasionally played on stage at the Cork Opera House, right through to uncles, aunts and cousins.
"It is such an honour to represent Cork in this year’s Rose of Tralee Festival and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their constant support and words of encouragement."
