US singer D4vd has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a 14-year-old girl in Los Angeles.
Police said the 21-year-old singer, whose legal name is David Burke, was arrested by homicide detectives investigating the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The case is due to be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, which will decide whether charges should be filed.
Lawyers for Burke said he is innocent.
In a statement, defence lawyers Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peter said the evidence would show that Burke "did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez" and "was not the cause of her death".
They also said no indictment had been returned and no criminal complaint had been filed.
Police said Burke is being held without bail.
The body of Ms Rivas Hernandez was found in September 2025 inside a Tesla Model Y that had been towed from the Hollywood Hills after it was found apparently abandoned, according to court documents cited by US media.
The cause of death has not been made public.
Ms Rivas Hernandez had been reported missing in 2024 from Lake Elsinore, southeast of Los Angeles. Authorities said she was 14 when she was killed.
D4vd rose to prominence in 2022 after his song Romantic Homicide went viral on TikTok. He later released the EPs Petals To Thorns and The Lost Petals, followed by his debut album Withered.
Several live dates were cancelled after the body was found, including the final North American shows on his tour and planned European performances.
