Yes you read that headline correctly. Israel's Labor party has rescheduled a leadership vote - because it clashes with a Britney Spears concert in Tel Aviv.
Britney is performing in Tel Aviv’s Yarkon Park for the first time ever on July 3, the only problem is that the Labor contest is scheduled to take place around the same time nearby.
However before anyone thinks that the political process is being rescheduled for fear that delegates might run off to the gig, it seems that there are genuine fears that not enough security personnel will be available on the day to steward both events.
A party spokesperson told the Times of Israel that, because of the concert, there had been "a difficulty in recruiting security guards" for the election.
Although the party didn’t mention Britney by name, a statement did say "The election date was delayed by one day due to the fact that there is a major event at Yarkon Park on July 3, 2017".
The leadership election will now go ahead a day later, though it seems there might be a few sneaky fans of the pop princess within the Labor ranks.
According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, a party source said there was “some consideration for the party faithful who want to vote in the primary and then watch Britney do her thing.”
