Former Rollerskate Skinny man Ken Griffin has returned with a new song from August Wells, the new band he has formed with fellow musician John Rauchenberger.

Fresh from playing Dublin's Interlude Festival and Sea Sessions in Donegal over the weekend, the New York-based duo have released She Was a Question, a haunting, string-leaden thing which showcases Griffin's baritone and also features a tranquil bass line from Corkonian New Yorker Graham Finn.

August Wells have also kicked off their biggest Irish tour to date with gigs all over Ireland, from Clare Island to Myrtleville.

The band made appearances on Other Voices, played at last year’s Electric Picnic, and supported long-time Rollerskate Skinny fan Glen Hansard at New York’s Beacon Theatre last December.

August Wells play Mike the Pies, Listowel on June 30, Coughlan’s, Cork on July 1, Levis, Ballydehob on July 2, The Cave, Junction Festival, Clonmel on July 8, Pine Lodge, Myrtleville on July 9, The Hot Spot, Greystones on July 22, The Workmans Club, Dublin on July 23, Knockanstockan Festival, Blessington on July 24, Kasbah Social Club – Limerick on July 28, Cleere’s, Kilkenny on July 29, and the Indiependence Music & Arts Festival, Mitchelstown on July 31.
