Shania Twain's fourth album is, as its title track suggests, a more upbeat and positive offering from a singer/song writer who has continued to impress with her range of musical styles and influences.

Her last album, 'Come On Over' made her a hit on this side of the Atlantic and this collection is sure to build on that success. Twain's blend of traditional Country & Western music with pop and rock caused uproar when she first arrived Stateside but this has now become a uniquely recognisable brand in itself.

'Up!' continues that blend with tracks like 'I'm Gonna Getcha Good!', 'Nah!' and 'Thank You Baby!' but a much more diverse blend is also on offer with elements of Oriental, Eastern and European influences thrown into the mix. The result is a varied collection of songs, which are a joy to listen to and show that Twain is not afraid to experiment with different musical styles and influences, on the same album.

Also included in the package is the 'Blue CD', which contains the same songs with more Eastern and Oriental musical elements. Some of these mixes work quite well but those that don't are slightly jarring.

'Up!' continues Twain's focus on love and heartbreak in songs like 'Forever And For Always', 'It Only Hurts When I’m Breathing' and 'When You Kiss Me' but there is also a more socially motivated side to the album evident in songs like 'Ka-Ching!' and 'What A Way To Wanna Be!'.

A must-listen for all female fans, 'Up!' is a confidence booster with a positive, upbeat attitude and a woman-power message.
