Duran Duran to play Belfast in October

Duran Duran are to play Belfast's SSE Arena this October as part oft their new arena tour, which will see them perform in Glasgow, and Liverpool.

The group, formed in the 1980s and fronted by Simon Le Bon, will begin their tour at Glasgow's OVO Hydro on October 15, going on to perform at the SSE Arena on October 18 and Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on October 23, before finishing the tour at Leeds’ First Bank Arena on October 24.

Tickets for the band's arena tour will go on general sale from 5 June at 10am on ticketing site myticket.co.uk, with presales taking place on 3 and 4 of June.

They will also perform at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on October 20, and will be supported by indie band Pigeon for the tour.

The band announced a new single with Chic’s Nile Rodgers called Free To Love in April, and also announced a headline performance at London’s British Summer Time (BST) festival July 5, where they will be supported by Scissor Sisters.

Alongside the UK dates, Duran Duran will also perform a number of European dates including in Oslo, Stockholm, Hamburg, Cologne, Brussels and Paris.

The band – completed in their current line-up by keyboard player Nick Rhodes, bass player John Taylor and drummer Roger Taylor – are best-known for hits such as Rio, Hungry Like The Wolf and A View To A Kill, the theme to the 1985 James Bond film of the same name.

They have sold more than 100 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2022.
