Naomie Harris and Christina Hendrick have joined a new BBC legal drama

James Bond star Naomie Harris and Mad Men actor Christina Hendricks have started filming for new BBC legal drama Reputation.

The six-part series follows formidable lawyer Lena, played by Harris, who gets pulled into a celebrity case representing global pop star Davina Knight, played by Hendricks.

Davina releases a provocative song accusing her former husband, played by Kyle Soller, of abusive behaviour and he retaliates.

Written by Anya Reiss, the series follows as the couple's breakdown as it spirals into a public libel battle.

Harris, 49, starred as Miss Moneypenny alongside Daniel Craig’s James Bond in Skyfall, Spectre and No Time to Die and is also known for her roles in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and 28 Days Later.

Her appearance in the 2016 coming-of-age story Moonlight earned her nominations at the Golden Globes, BAFTAs and Oscars.

She said of the new series: "I was hooked from page one of Reputation.

"It’s so rare to read scripts with the wit and flair of Anya’s writing and I knew straight away that I wanted to play Lena."

Hendricks, 51, is best known for playing office manager Joan Holloway Harris in the HBO series Mad Men.

She has also starred in dark comedy Good Girls and Sky Atlantic crime show Tin Star.

Also joining the cast are Rivals star Emily Atack, The Crown actor Alex Jennings and Interstellar’s David Gyasi.
