Irish singer CMAT has won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Album for EURO-COUNTRY.

This is the Meath star's first ever win at The Ivors and it saw her triumph over Lily Allen, Olivia Dean, Wolf Alice and Jim Legxacy at the ceremony at the Grosvenor House in London on Thursday night.

Presented by the Ivors Academy, the peer-judged award ceremony celebrates and recognises songwriting and composing.

In their commendation, the Ivors Academy said, "Across the record, CMAT blends confessional songwriting with sharp humour, vivid storytelling, and social commentary while exploring themes of identity, relationships, and modern anxieties through a personal lens."

They added, "The judges praised the album’s honesty, originality, and particularly highlighted its ability to balance personal songwriting alongside political and cultural themes. The Best Album category celebrates 2025 releases that demonstrate exceptional songwriting craft, creativity and cohesion across the record as a whole."

EURO-COUNTRY has previously won Irish Album of the Year at the RTÉ Choice Music Prize, and it was also nominated for the Mercury Prize.

It's the third album from the singer, whose real name is Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, following her debut, 2022's If My Wife New I'd Be Dead, and 2023's Crazymad, for Me.

Former Wham! member Andrew Ridgeley accepted a Fellowship of The Ivors Academy on behalf of his late bandmate George Michael, saying he would have been "immensely proud" of the recognition.

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke was also given a Fellowship of The Ivors Academy during the ceremony.

Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalia was named international songwriter of the year, while 4 Non Blondes singer and guitarist Linda Perry received a special international gong.
