The collaboration, which has been given an Ireland-only release ahead of its global debut, was born out of Dee's visit to Ireland last January, where he was attending the Your Roots Are Showing music conference and performing at the Folk in Fusion concert in Belfast.
While there, he met Lorraine, Laura-Jo and Kaitlin and booked a studio in Dublin to record a version of Green River Rye featuring Lorraine on flute, Laura Jo on banjo, and Kaitlin on cello, as well as backing vocals from all three.
"I first discovered Green River Rye whiskey during a hunting trip to Kentucky. The bottle instantly caught my eye," he says. "it was the same one I remembered from an antique lithograph that hung in my childhood home.
"More recently, while in Ireland, my team and I felt the song would suit a traditional Irish folk arrangement beautifully. After meeting three incredibly talented Irish musicians at the conference, we booked time at Vault Studios in Dublin and recorded the Live in Dublin version.
"A huge thank you to Lorraine Nash, Laura Jo and Kaitlin Cullen-Verhauz for being part of this unforgettable recording experience."
