Katy Perry, Alanis Morissette and Michael Bublé among World Cup opening stars

Katy Perry, Alanis Morissette, Michael Bublé and Blackpink star Lisa are among the global music names set to perform as the 2026 FIFA World Cup opens with three star-studded ceremonies.

FIFA has confirmed that each of the tournament's host countries, Mexico, Canada and the United States, will stage its own opening celebration.

The tournament will begin on 11 June in Mexico City, where Mexico face South Africa. The pre-match show will feature J Balvin, Maná, Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules and Tyla.

Canada’s opening ceremony will take place in Toronto on 12 June ahead of Canada’s match against Bosnia and Herzegovina, with Alanis Morissette, Michael Bublé, Alessia Cara, Jessie Reyez, Nora Fatehi and Elyanna among those involved.

Later that day, the United States will open their campaign against Paraguay in Los Angeles, where Katy Perry will perform alongside Future, Lisa, Anitta, Rema and Tyla.

Perry previously headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2015.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said the ceremonies would bring together "music, culture and football" while reflecting the identity of each host nation.

The 2026 World Cup will run from 11 June to 19 July across North America.
