The Traitors Ireland and The Walsh Sisters are among the programmes shortlisted for the 2026 Gradaim RTS/Royal Television Society Ireland Awards, which take place in Dublin tonight.
Irish TV shows in scripted, entertainment, factual, sport, children's programming and current affairs will be honoured at the event at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre with hosts RTÉ Radio 1's Louise Duffy and RTÉ 2FM’s Aisling Bonner.
The RTS Audience Choice Award will also be announced.
In the scripted category, The Walsh Sisters is shortlisted alongside Mix Tape, season two of Obituary, Video Nasty, and series four of The Young Offenders.
In entertainment, The Traitors Ireland is nominated alongside Beo ón Electric Picnic, Christmas in Kilmainham, No Worries If Not! and The Six O’Clock Show.
Elsewhere on the shortlist are factual titles including Bad Nanny, Death of a Showjumper, Hooked: How Addiction Hijacks Your Brain and NORAID: Irish America & The IRA, while current affairs nominees include DJ Carey - Hero to Zero, Prime Time: Death on a Doorstep, RTÉ Investigates: Inside Ireland’s Nursing Homes and First Conviction.
The shortlist also includes nominees across live sport, specialist factual, factual entertainment, children’s programming, sports documentary and the newly introduced short film category, which has been added this year to recognise excellence in short-form scripted films and animation.
The Gradaim RTS/RTS Ireland Awards recognise achievement across Irish television, from programme-making and performance to journalism, craft and design. Organisers said a number of categories were reviewed and updated this year following feedback from judges to better reflect current industry trends.
Tonight’s ceremony is expected to welcome around 400 guests and will also include the Breakthrough Talent Award and Special Recognition Award, both decided by the RTS Republic of Ireland Committee.
