The girl group Midnight in Vegas have been announced as the fourth act set to compete for the chance to open for Shania Twain in Limerick this summer.
The trio are one of five acts due to perform live on the first-ever edition of The Late Late Show Opening Act on Friday 17 April on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
The winning act will get the chance to open for Grammy winner Shania Twain when she takes to the stage at Thomond Park in Limerick this July. They will also secure a place on the annual Late Late Show Country Special, presented by Patrick Kielty, later this year.
Midnight in Vegas, made up of Keli-Ann Corcoran from Dublin, Phoebe Dipple from Waterford and Jamie Sullivan from Essex, were revealed as the fourth act in the running during an interview on Today with David McCullagh on RTÉ Radio 1 on Thursday morning.
Paddy Treacy was the first contestant to be announced on Monday, followed by Jesse Sludds on Tuesday and Caitlin Mackin on Wednesday. The final contestant is due to be revealed on Friday.
Speaking about the opportunity, Keli-Ann said the group were most excited about performing live on national television.
She said they had put a huge amount of work into creating something "fresh and new" that would appeal to a wide audience, including younger viewers.
Keli-Ann also said it would be a huge honour for the group to be chosen, adding that they were ready to give the competition everything they had.
She said the band hoped to help bring a new girl group sound to Irish country music, while also putting a modern spin on the genre.
The five finalists will compete live on The Late Late Show Opening Act on Friday at 9.35pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
