The Strokes announce first Dublin show in 20 years

The Strokes will play their first Dublin show in 20 years as part of their upcoming world tour.

The New York band, whose hits include Last Nite and Hard to Explain, play the 3Arena with support from Fat White Family and Alex Cameron on the 28 of October, with tickets priced from €83.75 to €255.25 on sale this Friday at 10am.

The tour, which also visits North America, the UK., Europe, and Japan, is in support of their new album, Reality Awaits, which is released on the 26 of June.

The Strokes played US festival Coachella over the weekend and have released Going Shopping, the first single from their new album,

Recorded in Costa Rica with producer Rick Rubin and finished around the globe, Reality Awaits is the band's first new music since 2020’s The New Abnormal and extensive global touring in its wake.

Made up of singer Julian Casablancas, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr, bass player Nikolai Fraiture, and drummer Fabrizio Moretti, The Strokes released their landmark debut album Is This It in 2001.

Hammond Jr is the son of 1970s singer-songwriter Albert Hammond, best known for his hit single The Free Electric Band.

Is This It is often credited for sparking a guitar music revival during the 2000s, with the record containing some of the band's best known songs such as Last Nite, Someday and Hard To Explain.
