Garda Knowles and JJ cross swords in Tuesday's Fair City on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
In Tuesday's episode, JJ and Carol are annoyed when Steo fails to show up for his sentencing.
JJ grows increasingly frustrated when he can't reach Steo.
Later, Garda Knowles says to JJ: "Did you know there's a bench warrant out for your son?"
"I was in the court this morning, so yes, I'm aware," JJ replies.
"You'll keep us informed if you hear anything, won't you?" says Garda Knowles.
"Oh yeah, I have you on speed dial," says JJ.
"Somehow I doubt it," says Garda Knowles. "I'll be keeping a close eye."
"He's on the run from the law. He's hardly going to turn up for dinner now, is he?" says JJ.
