Belfast alt-pop artist Becky Mcneice has released her new EP, Popular Loner 2, and plays Whelan's of Dublin on 18 June. We asked her the BIG questions . . .

"This EP is about reclaiming solitude as power," she says. "Where the first chapter explored isolation, Popular Loner 2 is about finding confidence in that space - turning the bedroom pop ethos into something you can scream live.
"Working with Still Searching and F3miii pushed me to explore heavier sonic territories while keeping that diary-entry honesty intact. It's hyper-pop when it wants to be, indie rock when it needs to be, and unapologetically me throughout."
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I can’t really swim
When I was a kid, I thought I would grow up to be a professional skateboarder.
My favourite flavour is mango.
How would you describe your music?
Nostalgic pop rock, for people that miss early 2010s pop music.
Who are your musical inspirations?
In general, Lorde is a big inspo of mine, I listened to a lot of Black Eyed Peas growing up too, The Chainsmokers, Khalid, Elton John, The Police, Justin Bieber, Sza, Avril Lavigne, Hayley Williams, and Jessie Reyez. Some more recent inspirations would be Wolf Alice, Abby Holliday, Lola Young, Clairo, Jim-e stack, mk gee.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
I went to 5 Seconds of Summer. I think that was my first gig I went to in the Odyssey in Belfast, I can’t remember it too well. First gig I remember being completely star struck by was Justin Bieber in the RDS, Halsey opened up for him and I loved her music as well at that time.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Black Eyed Peas The E.N.D and Jackson 5 greatest hits, I can’t remember which one I got first!
What’s your favourite song right now?
Ghost by Bombay Bicycle Club.
Favourite lyric of all time?
"If I could see through walls I could see you’re faking, If you could see my thoughts you would see our faces" - I think it’s Ivy by Frank Ocean.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Electric City by The Black Eyed Peas.
