American singer Olivia Rodrigo has announced she will serve as both host and musical guest on long-running US sketch show Saturday Night Live (SNL).
The 23-year-old, known for hit songs Good 4 You and Driver's Licence, will appear on the 2 May episode of SNL, marking her hosting debut and her first time pulling "double duty" on the show.
The announcement comes after the singer recently revealed her highly anticipated third album – You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love – which will be released on 12 June.
The Grammy-winner has previously appeared twice on the popular sketch show as a musical guest, in May 2021 and December 2023.
She announced the news on Instagram on Wednesday, with a photo shared to her almost 40 million followers with her name in both the host and musical guest slot.
Referencing the city where SNL is filmed, the singer wrote in the caption: "Massive dream come true. See you soon NYC."
Rodrigo, who starred in the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series as a teenager, rose to fame after releasing her award-winning 2021 single Driver’s Licence.
The chart-topping song was followed by her debut album Sour, which won the Best Pop Vocal Album and Best New Artist Grammy in 2022.
Other stars to take the stage for upcoming episodes of SNL include Hollywood actor Matt Damon, who will host the show on 9 May and will be joined by musical guest Noah Kahan.
Wrapping up the latest series of the sketch show on 16 May is Emmy-winner Will Ferrell as host, with former Beatles star Paul McCartney to feature as the musical guest.
McCartney's appearance on the show will take place just weeks before the release of his new studio album, titled The Boys Of Dungeon Lane, which is his first release in almost five years.
