Daryl McCormack is to star opposite Dakota Fanning and Stellan Skarsgård in a new Apple TV thriller series from Emmy winner Alex Cary (A Spy Among Friends, Homeland).
US entertainment trade publication Deadline, which first reported Bad Sisters star McCormack's casting, says the as-yet-untitled show sees Fanning playing "an undercover Treasury agent in a multi-billion-dollar international conglomerate".
Fanning's character "becomes conflicted between her mission and a belief that her principal target, the heir apparent to all that corrupt power, is at his core a good man and worthy of her love".
Tipperary actor McCormack will play Kar, the "reluctant heir to the international conglomerate", and Skarsgård will play its boss, Brandt.
Most recently seen in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, McCormack's other upcoming projects include the Tom Ford-directed film Cry to Heaven, which is an adaptation of the Anne Rice novel of the same name, and Netflix's Pride and Prejudice series.
