Megan Thee Stallion has been discharged from hospital after taking ill during a performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway on Tuesday night.
It has been announced that she will not appear on stage on Wednesday at New York's Al Hirschfeld Theatre as she recovers.
The hip-hop star - real name Megan Pete - made her Broadway debut as Zidler in the hit musical on 24 March and is due to remain with the production until 17 May.
On Wednesday, her representative shared a statement with US entertainment trade publication The Hollywood Reporter that read: "On Tuesday evening, Megan was transported to a local hospital to undergo a medical evaluation after experiencing concerning symptoms.
"Doctors ultimately identified extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction, and low metabolic levels as the cause of her symptoms.
"Megan has since been treated, discharged, and is now resting."
The star's casting marked a milestone for the show, with the rapper becoming the first woman to play Zidler in any production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
