Post-punk trailblazers Public Image Ltd. will be joined by Therapy? and local band Kerbdog at new Kilkenny concert series Live at Castle Mills this July.
Tickets priced €59.50 plus fees for the 17 July show go on sale on Wednesday, 1 April at 10:00am from castlemills.ie and ticketmaster.ie.
The concert is the second night to be announced for the series, following news that Matt Berninger of The National, Lisa O'Neill and Engine Alley will also play the new tented concert event.
Fronted by former Sex Pistol John Lydon, Public Image Ltd. will play tracks from their extensive catalogue - from 1978’s debut First Issue through to 2023’s End of World.
Northern Irish rockers Therapy? have been an enduring live fixture across four decades, with early mini-albums Babyteeth and Pleasure Death and their mainstream breakthrough Troublegum in 1994.
Fronted by Cormac Battle, Kilkenny’s Kerbdog released their eponymous debut album in 1993 and follow up On The Turn in 1995.
After initially splitting in 1998 the band reunited as new listeners discovered the On The Turn and the band’s wider catalogue.
"We are so excited about the calibre of artist we’re bringing to Kilkenny with the inaugural Live at Castle Mills series," say organisers and Kilkenny natives Willie Byrne and Darragh Butler.
"To have artists of the international standing of PiL, Matt Berninger, Therapy? and Lisa O’Neill sharing a stage by our very own Kilkenny success stories Kerbdog and Engine Alley feels really special too."
Live at Castle Mills is being launched in partnership with the Kilkenny Nighttime Economy initiative, "taking the opportunity to show Kilkenny’s vibrant, diverse and unique evening and late night cultural scene".
