Featuring bagpipes played by his father, Richard, the album features his takes on U2's I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For and more traditional songs such as I’m a Man You Don’t Meet Everyday.

A graduate of Columbia College in Chicago, David has released six albums spanning rock, folk, country and jazz influences and the bagpipes were a big part of his childhood.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I teach guitar and piano.

I’m a diehard Chicago Cubs fan.

I was 18 when I got my first guitar.

How would you describe your music?

It’s rock, occasionally mixed with country, classical and jazz.

Who are your musical inspirations?

The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, JS Bach.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

I think it was The Beach Boys.

What was the first record you ever bought?

It was Led Zeppelin’s Houses of the Holy on CD.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Time after Time by Cyndi Lauper and the new EP by U2 sounds great.

Favourite lyric of all time?

"I can’t complain, but sometimes I still do. Life’s been good to me so far" - The Eagles.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A Day in the Life by The Beatles.
