Originally from Tullamore, Co. Offaly, he was the drummer for indie rock band District and lead singer of The Collision.

Speaking about I'm Getting Old, the 26-year-old says, "It’s a bit stupid to be worried about getting old when you’re still young, but it’s something I’ve been freaking out about lately.

"I’ve started obsessing over my hairline and worrying about little stray hairs falling out. You can tell yourself to cop on, but that’s hard when you feel like you’re wasting your life and watching yourself age in real time."

I’m Getting Old is Shelly Bom Pop’s first release since his debut EP A Bleeding Sky, which dropped in September 2025 featuring lead single Summer.

It follows his debut single You’re An Addict (April 2025) and I Can’t Sleep (June 2025).
