It is reported that Universal Pictures has closed a deal for the "definitive" biopic of New Jersey rockers Bon Jovi.
US entertainment trade publication Deadline, which first reported the story, says the film's focus "will be the formative years and the stepping stones to get to where the band's rock anthems filled stadiums all over the world".
"The studio that made fact-based music biopics Straight Outta Compton and 8 Mile has invested in a package that will have the participation of leader Jon Bon Jovi and access to the band's music library," it says.

Among the film's producers will be Gotham Chopra, whose company Religion of Sports produced the documentary series Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story for Hulu.
Chopra directed all four episodes of the documentary series. A director for the biopic is yet to be announced, and there is no casting news at present.
Bon Jovi will be back in Dublin later this year to play Croke Park on Sunday, 30 August.
