Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I am a singer/songwriter born and raised in Donabate in County Dublin, I am a huge football fan (I’m not gonna say who I support…) and I love to travel.

How would you describe your music?

Very raw, natural and honest. My songs feel very cinematic to me, and I like to think they are very easy for an audience to relate to.

Who are your musical inspirations?

I have such a wide range of artists and genres that I listen to, but the ones who inspired me the most would have to be Ed Sheeran (for the red hair), Liam Clancy, Fionn Regan and Damien Rice.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Bruno Mars in the o2 Arena (now the 3Arena) in Dublin back in 2013, and it’s been hard to top that one ever since!

What was the first record you ever bought?

As a kid I was obsessed with soundtrack music, and the first CD I ever got was the Complete Star Wars soundtrack composed by John Williams, I was quite the Star Wars fan as a kid!

What’s your favourite song right now?

I’m on a bit of an 80s buzz at the moment, and I’ve been obsessed with Sailing by Christopher Cross. I love that soft rock/yacht rock sound of the late 70s/80s.

Favourite lyric of all time?

So hard to narrow it down to one, but it would have to be "Keep climbing into my head without knocking, and you fix yourself there like a map pin" in Fionn Regan’s Dogwood Blossom, one of my favourite songs.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I’d have to say Raglan Road; it’s a song I’ve been singing for many years and I’ve never got tired of it. It’s such a beautifully bittersweet story and I always feel so connected to it when I’m singing it eyes closed in a pub somewhere.
