Dancing with the Stars reaches its 100th episode this Sunday, with a twist in the ballroom.
The show is introducing a one-off "all-stars" twist for the anniversary week, with seven former contestants returning as mentors. Each of the remaining couples will be asked to redo, reimagine and reinterpret one of their mentor’s most memorable routines from the past eight seasons.
The mentors will visit rehearsals during the week and will also be in the studio on Sunday to cheer on the couples as they take on the reworked dances.
The Traitors Ireland star Paudie Moloney and partner Laura Nolan will revisit season one, mentored by Des Cahill, as they put their own spin on his Salsa to Soul Bossa Nova by Quincy Jones.
Olympic rower Philip Doyle and partner Daniela Roze will take on season two winner Jake Carter’s Contemporary Ballroom to Sign of the Times by Harry Styles.
After scoring three tens last week, Rose of Tralee Katelyn Cummins and partner Leonardo Lini will dance a Viennese Waltz inspired by season three winner Mairéad Ronan’s semi-final performance to You Are the Reason by Calum Scott and Leona Lewis.
Fair City actress Stephanie Kelly and pro dancer Ervinas Merfeldas will be mentored by Carrigstown co-star Ryan Andrews, the season four runner-up, as they tackle a Samba to Lo-Lo Dzama by Šum Svistu.
It is a case of Jordan v Jordan for The Apprentice star Jordan Dargan this weekend. Having survived last week’s dance-off, he and partner Rebecca Scott will be mentored by season five runner-up Jordan Conroy as they take on his Jive to Runaway Baby by Bruno Mars.
Ireland AM host Eric Roberts and partner Arianna Favaro will be mentored by singer Brooke Scullion, the season six runner-up, as he reimagines her Movie Week Paso Doble to The Greatest Show from The Greatest Showman.
Singer-songwriter Tolü Makay and pro dancer Maciej Zieba will be mentored by Blu Hydrangea, a finalist from season seven, as they take on her week three Tango to Lady Gaga’s Applause.
The two couples with the lowest combined total from the judges’ scores and the public vote will face each other in the dance-off.
Dancing with the Stars airs on Sunday, at 6.30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
