Actors Eve Hewson and Tom Burke are to star for writer-director Lenny Abrahamson in a new film set in Dublin's Jewish community in the late 1970s.

US entertainment trade publication The Hollywood Reporter says filming will begin in Dublin on Monday, 2 March, with newcomer Shane Meagher also among the cast.

The Dublin-based Element Pictures (Bugonia, Poor Things, Normal People) and writer-director Abrahamson (Room, Normal People, Conversations with Friends) are among the producers of the as-yet-untitled film.

The project also reunites Abrahamson with many of his collaborators from the series Normal People and Conversations with Friends, including director of photography Suzie Lavelle and composer Stephen Rennicks.

It is funded by Film4, High Frequency Entertainment, Fís Eireann/Screen Ireland and RTÉ.

Hewson, whose credits include Flora and Son and Bad Sisters, will next be seen in Steven Spielberg's sci-fi thriller Disclosure Day. It opens on Friday, 12 June.
