TV producer Dana Eden, who co-created the Israeli spy thriller Tehran, has been found dead in a hotel room in central Athens, according to Greek police.
Eden, 52, was discovered on Sunday night in a hotel near Syntagma Square. Police have said an autopsy has been ordered.
Eden had been in Athens for filming on the fourth season of Tehran, which streams internationally on Apple TV+. The series follows a Mossad agent working undercover in Iran and has previously used Athens as a stand-in location for Tehran.
In a statement, Donna and Shula Productions, the company behind the show, said it was "deeply saddened" by Eden's death and urged people not to spread unverified rumours about motives.
Israeli Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar paid tribute to Eden on social media, describing her as a leading figure in Israel’s television industry.
Tehran has been a major international success for Israeli television, winning Best Drama Series at the 2021 International Emmy Awards. Apple announced in late 2025 that the series had been renewed for a fourth season, with season three due to premiere on Apple TV+ in January 2026.
