Collette is classically trained, holds a Bachelor of Music (BMus) in Voice and Piano from NUI Maynooth, and is a music teacher and the Musical Director of the school choir at St Mary's Secondary School in Edenderry.
Her previous releases include Valentine, a duet with Eurovision winner Charlie McGettigan.
Tell us three things about yourself . .
Driven, passionate and love a good laugh.
Singer and piano player based in Mullingar, Secondary School Music Teacher, mummy to two gorgeous kids. Releasing pop and Irish folk songs the past year working with the best in Irish songwriters such as Charlie McGettigan on our song Valentine and Larissa Tormey and Ian Curnow, UK Producer and writer, who has written for pop bands. We have a song coming out in April called So Long Solo and it’s a song that will stand the test of time. I’m loving it! Love performing different genres of song.
My own self-penned song Out of Your Control is out now an emotive pop ballad telling of been powerless in our loved one’s storms.
How would you describe your music?
Eclectic and emotive with a story, I love intense minor songs sometimes calm and easy listening but sometimes powerful with a full on beat. I need to feel it from the heart and then I can deliver.
Who are your musical inspirations?
So many in different genres but Celine Dion for vocals. I used to train my voice to her songs in my room as a child.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
My cousin brought me to Elton John and Billy Joel performing together .
What was the first record you ever bought?
I was given a Queen album record as a child for a portable record player. First tape was Kylie and Irish CD Lord of the Dance Soundtrack by Ronan Hardiman. I loved it still do .
What’s your favourite song right now?
Papaoutai by Stromea . Love his work.
Favourite lyric of all time?
