Sam Fender has secured his first Irish number one, with Rein Me In featuring Olivia Dean topping the Official Irish Singles Chart this week.

The duet version of Rein Me In was released on 20 June 2025 through Polydor Records, and is a reworked take on the original track from Fender's album People Watching. The album won the 2025 Mercury Prize, with organisers confirming People Watching as the Album of the Year winner at the ceremony in October 2025.

People Watching has since achieved platinum sales in Ireland, within one year of its release.

Rein Me In first drew attention after Dean joined Fender on stage during his London Stadium show on 6 June 2025, before the pair performed it again during Fender’s run of hometown gigs at St James’ Park in Newcastle later that month.

On the UK singles chart, Rein Me In reached a peak position of number five, according to Official Charts. The track is also among the nominees for Song of the Year at the 2026 Brit Awards.

For Olivia Dean, it is her second Irish number one. Her single Man I Need spent three consecutive weeks at the top in autumn 2025, beginning on 19 September.

Dean is due to play two nights at Fairview Park in Dublin on 20 and 21 June 2026.
