The battle is on and it's time to pick a side because this week it’s Boy Bands vs Girl Groups on Dancing with the Stars.
For the first time in the competition, each couple will dance two competitive routines. As usual, each couple will dance an individual routine, inspired by a boy band banger or a girl group classic.
The couples will then join forces for the annual Team Dance challenge. This year, it’s boys against girls, with hosts Jennifer Zamparelli and Laura Fox thrown into the mix alongside the couples and the judges. Jen and Laura will be team captains and will dance live on the night.
Having survived the first dreaded Dance-Off last week, Olympic rower Philip Doyle will dance a Charleston alongside his partner Daniela Roze to Love Machine by Girls Aloud.
Following on from his leaderboard-topping Charleston last week, Ireland AM presenter Eric Roberts and partner Arianna Favaro will dance a Cha-cha-cha to Jonas Brothers’ hit Waffle House.
Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh will channel her inner Beyoncé with a Tango with her partner Stephen Vincent to Destiny’s Child’s Survivor.
Singer-songwriter Tolü Makay will dance a Salsa with partner Maciej Zieba to Boombayah by K-Pop queens BLACKPINK.
The Traitors Ireland star Paudie Moloney and partner Laura Nolan will dance a Tango to Westlife’s When You’re Looking Like That.
Rose of Tralee Katelyn Cummins and partner Leonardo Lini will dance a Rumba to Boyzone’s No Matter What.
The Apprentice UK star Jordan Dargan and his pro partner Rebecca Scott will dance a Quickstep to One Direction’s Story of My Life.
Fair City actress Stephanie Kelly will dance a Viennese Waltz with partner Ervinas Merfeldas to the Boyz II Men ballad End of the Road.
After all eight couples have performed, it’ll be Team Dance time!
Jennifer Zamparelli will take lead as captain of the boys' team, made up of Eric Roberts, Jordan Dargan, Paudie Moloney, and Philip Doyle and their respective partners. They will dance to Relight My Fire by Take That feat. Lulu.
The ladies' team – featuring Katelyn Cummins, Niamh Kavanagh, Stephanie Kelly, and Tolü Makay, alongside their respective partners – will be led by Laura Fox. The girls will take on the roles of Sporty, Ginger, Baby, Scary, and Posh dancing to the Spice Girls hit Spice Up Your Life.
Each Team Dance will be marked out of 40 by the judges. Those scores will be added to each couple’s scores from their individual dance, giving them a maximum score out of 80. The two couples with the lowest combined points will face the second Dance-Off of the season, where the judges decide who stays in the competition.
Dancing with the Stars, Sundays, RTÉ One and RTÉ Player, 6:30pm.
