First trailer for Irish film Spilt Milk released

We have an exclusive first look at the trailer for the new Irish film Spilt Milk, ahead of its Irish cinema release on 20 March.

Spilt Milk follows 11-year-old Bobby O'Brien, a boy who dreams of becoming a great detective like his TV hero Kojak. Bobby sets up his own private-investigation enterprise with his best friend Nell, and the pair embark on a quest to find Bobby's older brother, Oisín.

The film introduces Cillian Sullivan in his debut feature role as Bobby, alongside Naoise Kelly as Nell Casey. The supporting cast includes Danielle Galligan, Laurence O'Fuarain, Pom Boyd and Lewis Brophy.

Spilt Milk made its world premiere at Tallinn Black Nights International Film Festival before winning the MUBI Audience Award at Glasgow Film Festival.

The film was also nominated for Best Film at the IFTA Awards, with director Brian Durnin nominated for Best Director and Cara Loftus nominated for Best Script. Gwen Jeffares Hourie received a nomination for Costume Design.

Spilt Milk is produced by Laura McNicholas for 925 Productions and James Heath for Randan, with Cormac Fox of Vico Films as executive producer.

It is funded by Fís Eireann/Screen Ireland, Coimisiún na Meán, RTÉ, and Screen Scotland.
