Podcaster Amber Wilson has told RTÉ Entertainment that she is disappointed to have left the Dancing with the Stars ballroom and admits she would have liked to stay in the competition longer.
In a historic first for the Irish version of the popular RTÉ One dance show, the 2026 season featured its first-ever female same-sex pairing, with Wilson dancing alongside her professional partner Alex Vladimirov, who returned for her second season.
Speaking about her journey over the last few months, Wilson said she is "proud" of herself and thrilled that her final dance went off without a hitch.

"The dress rehearsal we had yesterday [Saturday] was absolutely diabolical. I could use some expletive language to describe it," she laughed. "It was honestly horrendous. I even had to watch the run-throughs we did yesterday in costume - Alex said you have to watch them back - and it was worse than watching a horror movie."
She continued: "It was very painful to do, but you have to face it if you want to improve, and that's what we did. We came back on Sunday with a new energy. There were a few hiccups in the morning rehearsal and maybe the dress rehearsal, but we nailed it. I don’t think there were any mistakes when we went out there."
Wilson said it’s a pity she couldn’t stay in the show a while longer and admitted she had a lot more to give, particularly with next week’s personal theme.
"I’m a very competitive person, so I’m disappointed - I’m not going to lie," she said. "I obviously would have liked to stay a couple of weeks longer, and I was very excited for Dedicated Dance Week."
You can catch Dancing with the Stars on Sunday, 1 February, from 6:30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
