The Late Late Toy Show was once again the most-watched programme in Ireland in 2025 with 45 of the top 50 shows on RTÉ Television, an increase on the previous two years, according to newly released viewing figures by TAM Ireland/Nielsen Media.
The Late Late Toy Show on RTÉ One drew an audience of 1,590,200 in December with The Sunday Game Live All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final between Cork and Tipperary on RTÉ2 in second place with 995,300.
The Guinness Six Nations match between Ireland and France on RTÉ2 was in third with 984,600, and The Sunday Game Live All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final between Donegal and Kerry, also on RTÉ2, was in fourth with 938,900.
In fifth was the Guinness Six Nations match between Ireland and England on Virgin Media One with an audience of 863,700.
The top 10 was completed by the Guinness Six Nations match between Scotland and Ireland (RTÉ2, 828,100), The Traitors Ireland (RTÉ One, 818,000), the FIFA World Cup Qualifier between Hungary and the Republic of Ireland (RTÉ2, 804,300), the Quilter Nations Series match been Ireland and South Africa (RTÉ2, 749,400), and the Guinness Six Nations match between Wales and Ireland (Virgin Media One, 736,800).
The figures also show that RTÉ is continuing to attract younger viewers with an all-day share in the 15-34 age group of 25.8% - its highest level in over 14 years.
RTÉ Player had its most successful year to date in 2025 with 157 million streams, a year-on-year increase of 10%, with time spent watching increasing by 17%.
The top 10 shows on the RTÉ Player were, in order: EastEnders, Fair City, Home and Away, The Traitors Ireland, RTÉ News: Nine O'Clock, RTÉ News: Six One, Bluey, The Sunday Game Live, Yellowstone, and Love/Hate.
