Ryan Tubridy has presented his final mid-morning show on Virgin Radio UK and Dublin's Q102, with News Broadcasting confirming a new YouTube series and expanded radio projects for 2026.
The Irish broadcaster has hosted the weekday 10am to 1pm slot on Virgin Radio UK, which has been simulcast on Q102, since January 2024.
News Broadcasting, part of News UK, said Tubridy’s next projects will include a standalone YouTube channel, The Late Show with Ryan Tubridy, described as a series looking back on the lives of well-known names in film, music, sport and television, with Tubridy interviewing journalists, authors and other contributors who knew their work. The programme will also be broadcast on Times Radio, where he will contribute further in the coming months.
The company said he is also developing a new show for talkSPORT, while in Ireland, he will host a new weekend programme across the Onic network, including Dublin’s Q102, Cork’s 96FM, Limerick’s Live 95 and LMFM.
In a statement, Tubridy said he was "extremely excited" by the new plans and referenced this week’s announcement that the Oscars will move to YouTube from 2029.
"It is with great gratitude that I finish my two years at Virgin Radio UK, where I had the time of my life with the greatest bunch of people. They made me feel welcome and valued which I will never forget, but I can't wait to get started on these shows," Tubridy said.
Derek Brown, News Broadcasting’s Director of Digital, said the YouTube project would draw on News UK’s archive, while Onic Managing Director Sean Barry said the Irish weekend show will be speech-led, with music as part of the Sunday morning format.
Virgin Radio UK and Q102 are expected to announce their new schedules in early 2026.
