Hughie tears strips off Paul in Thursday's Fair City on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
The ructions are all part of Paul and Steo's off-the-books wine scam.
Paul took Hughie's van to buy wine in the North without paying VAT, but he was stopped by Garda Knowles on the way home.
Now, Paul wants Hughie to play along with the story that the wine was for Paul, Pete, and Hughie's personal use and not for Vino's.
Hughie, however, appears to be having none of it.
"You'd no right to use my van without my permission," he tells Paul angrily. "And no, I will not lie to the Guards to get you out of a hole. You can stew in it!"
