Made up of former members of Ladydoll and The Vincents, The Guilteens formed in 2023 and are made up of Finn (guitar, piano, vocals), Tomás O'Brien (bass), Cathal Nally (guitar, Trumpet) and Shane Murphy (drums).
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
We are a four-piece band.
We are from Cork City.
We have just released our debut EP, Heavy Letters.
How would you describe your music?
The Guilteens is a mix of dark blues, garage, psych and goth.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Everything from the Beatles to Nirvana, Elliot Smith to PJ Harvey.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
Wilt at the Half Moon in Cork City, probably around 2000/2001.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Michael Jackson - Dangerous.
What’s your favourite song right now?
This week it's probably Trinidad by Geese.
Favourite lyric of all time?
Anything by Fergus O'Farrell of Interference.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Tom Waits - Swordfishtrombones.
