"Mother was inspired by a dream I had where I was floating in space looking back at the earth and saw the entire human race as billions of tiny hearts all beating in time." he says.

The track will feature on his forthcoming second album, due for release in Spring 2026.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I'm a hopeless optimist despite the world being the way it is right now.

I don't drink anymore, which has changed my life considerably,

I am at my happiest in a forest.

How would you describe your music?

Dreamy, cinematic songs with an acoustic heart.

Who are your musical inspirations?

The Blue Nile, Prefab Sprout, Ron Sexsmith, Rufus Wainwright, there are so many and they change from week to week but really I'm just a sucker for a good melody.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

The Jesus & Mary Chain at the SFX, Dublin, I was 15. They were crap but also very cool, Bobby Gillespie was their drummer.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Love Me Do by The Beatles on 45, it was a birthday present for a friend, I bought it at a second hand market in Dublin.

What's your favourite song right now?

Caoine by Róis, it's so very powerful, so modern and yet sounds as if it's a thousand years old. She's a force of nature, I really look forward to seeing what she does with her music career.

Favourite lyric of all time?

"I started writing you the letter, Which turned into the book, I was gonna reach across the ocean and force you to look - August & September by The The.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I'm not a big fan of music all day long, my brain needs silence to function, but if it had to be just one song I would say Wichita Lineman by Glen Campbell, such a beauty of a song, so human and full of longing.
