The new single marks his debut as a lyricist while retaining the electronic focus of their debut solo album Tropism, released in late 2023.

Speaking about working with Iona, he says, "Iona was the support act on a tour I was on a couple of years ago with John Francis Flynn and I was absolutely floored by their songwriting and performances.

"I watched Iona's sets every single night without fail. I had been ruminating on the idea of incorporating vocals into my music in the future, which to that point had always been purely instrumental. By the end of the tour, I had made up my mind, if I'm ever going to have vocals in my music, Iona is the first person I’m going to ask."

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I am seldom seen without a cap, I like caps, I own several caps.

How would you describe your music?

Oh, gawd! I'd do my best not to. If people struggle to describe it, I reckon I'm probably doing something right. So, in review, some form of electronic music, or something.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Oneohtrix Point Never, Daniel Lanois, David Sylvian, Cocteau Twins, etc (as in the abbreviation et cetera. I'm sure etc are amazing whoever they are and I wish them the very best).

What was the first gig you ever went to?

As a pre-teen, I was brought to what was then called Witnness. I dyed my hair blue, my friend’s mam bought me an Ash merch tee, and I thought and mused to myself 'This is livin'. I actually didn't, but I did watch then reputable band Muse play and I thought I was extremely cool.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Via a convenient loophole, we'll bypass CDs and consider a vinyl - the first record I ever bought was Balladeering by Jakob Bro.

What’s your favourite song right now?

If I Could Only Fly by Blaze Foley.

Favourite lyric of all time?

"Did I dream you dreamed about me?" - Song to the Siren by Tim Buckley (I first heard the Liz Frazer version with This Mortal Coil).

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, but being an avid fan of loopholes, it would be the original CD version of Lovesexy by Prince (1988, 45mins, five bags of popcorn).

Where can people find your music/more information?

Bandcamp. People can also stream my music on the usual streamers.
