The Waterboys and Steve Earle have announced that they are joining forces under the banner The Fisherman's Blues Revue with a show scheduled at Dublin's 3Arena next September as part of the tour.
Tickets for the 3Arena show on Saturday 5 September will go on sale next Thursday, 27 November, at 10am.
"Legendary Waterboys fiddler Steve Wickham will rejoin the band for these shows, and in an exciting development, the ensemble will be graced by the great American singer/songwriter Steve Earle, who will perform as a member of the Revue, singing his own songs while adding vocals, guitar, and mandolin to Waterboys numbers," said the artists' joint statement.
"I only ever wanted to be in three bands: The Rolling Stones, NRBQ, and The Waterboys," said Earle as he looked forward to teaming up with Mike Scott and co.
