Aldoc were Formed by Alan Doherty, best known as frontman of Gráda and for his contribution to The Lord of the Rings soundtrack, and also feature Fiach Moriarty (Horslips, Beoga, Declan O’Rourke), and Alex Borwick (Sam Fender, Lankum, James Vincent McMorrow).
Koboko features Dublin spoken word artist and former All-Ireland Poetry Slam Champion Colm Keegan.
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
Alex: I’m originally from New Zealand
Alan: I don’t like onions
Fiach: I once represented Ireland and the Celtic Nations in the European Minority Languages Song contest. Basically, the Eurovision for minority languages like Irish and Basque.
How would you describe your music?
Fiach: The love child of the Bothy Band and Fat Freddy’s Drop.

Alex: A blend of music that we love from all over the world, but I suppose at the core of it is the Irish flute, soaked in the sounds of the New Zealand roots reggae music scene
Alan: Our music is all about groove and melodies, dynamics and emotion.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Ólafur Arnalds, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Bon Iver, TrinityRoots.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
Alan: Davy Spillane band in Whelan’s. I was 12 years of age. It changed my life.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Alan: Atlantic Bridge by Davy Spillane.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Alan: Adore U by Fred Again.
Favourite lyric of all time?
Fiach: "Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door. Who is it for?" - Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Fiach: He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s the Pilot by Grandaddy. It goes off in several different directions and last for about eight minutes. It’s a trip.
