Ireland's most extraordinary pets will be showcased in The Big Pet Project, coming to RTÉ One and RTÉ Player on Saturday, 15 November. at 5.15pm Press play on the image above to watch the trailer!
From surfing dogs to painting ponies and goal-scoring turtles, The Big Pet Project is crammed full of the weirdest, wackiest and most talented pets and animals. Pet lovers Demi Oviawe and Adam Beales jump in their Pet Mobile and travel across Ireland to meet the nation's most pet-obsessed people and learn all about their pets.
We meet more than 70 animals including axolotls in Belfast, turtles in Tipperary, hawks in Wicklow, pygmy goats in Donegal, a giant millipede in Galway and a massive pig in Dublin! So, if you love pets and animals jump into the chaos because this is the show for you!
The Young Offenders star Oviawe said: "I had so much fun on The Big Pet Project. I was completely shocked by some of the unusual pets that people keep! We even met a teenager who's caring for three generations of garden snails!"
Demi is joined by content creator Beales, who says: "I thought I was prepared for anything, but nothing could have prepared me for a goal-scoring turtle or a giant millipede! Travelling around Ireland and meeting these incredible pets and their owners has been hilarious, heartwarming and totally unpredictable."
And in every show we pop into the surgery of resident vet Doctor Bobby Ortiz. In the first show he is treating a pygmy hedgehog with a tooth ache! Dr Bobby can count many strange and exotic animals among his patients.
