Behind the music - Kampala

Kampala
Kampala

Irish alt-rock band Kampala have released their new single, Orangutan. We asked Rob McDonnell of the band the BIG questions . . .

Kampala are a four-piece from Dublin and Kildare and consist of Rob (vocals, guitar), Baz Daly (bass) and Justin Capocci (drums), and Dan Kane (guitar/vocals).

The band say that Orangutan looks "at the state of partisan politics in the world and how our elected leaders regularly fall short of any sort of meaningful leadership and effectively are making the world more a zoo led by the apes every day".

The track is from the band's upcoming debut album, also titled Orangutan, which was self-produced and recorded live at the band's rehearsal room in Ballymount in Dublin.
