Kim Kardashian has revealed she has a brain aneurysm during the Season 7 premiere of The Kardashians.
In the opening episode, titled Feels Like the Old Days, the 45-year-old reality TV star and businesswoman is seen undergoing brain imaging. "There's like a little aneurysm," she says, as brain scans appear on a monitor.
According to the Health Service Executive (HSE), a brain aneurysm occurs when a weakened section of a blood vessel in the brain bulges outward and may later burst, causing bleeding in or around the brain. This can lead to a haemorrhagic stroke, which is a medical emergency.
In the episode, Kardashian’s sister Kourtney reacts to the revelation with a brief "Whoa". Kardashian then adds, "They’re like, 'Just stress,’" before reflecting, "People think I have the luxury of walking away."
Later, she says, "This week has been the hardest week of my life."
It is not yet clear whether Kardashian is experiencing any symptoms or receiving treatment. Her representatives have not responded to media requests for comment.
Kardashian, who rose to fame on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, has since built a global business empire through television, social media and her brands in cosmetics and shapewear.
