Teeing up what's ahead, RTÉ said: "The Criminal Assets Bureau is back, and this time the stakes are higher than ever in a new season of Hidden Assets, full of suspense, intrigue, and narrative twists.

"Nora-Jane Noone (The Ipcress File, Wildfire, Bring Them Down) returns as DS Claire Wallace alongside Cathy Belton (Miss Scarlet & The Duke, The Hardacres, The Catch) as Norah Dillon, and Aaron Monaghan (The Banshees of Inisherin, The Gone, The Vanishing Triangle) as DS Sean Prendergast.

"The new series kicks off with the brutal murder of investigative journalist Olatz Alzola and her family in Bilbao. When the killings are linked to a past CAB raid in Ireland that ended in tragedy, DS Wallace is drawn into a dangerous web of crime and corruption.

"Tracking €27 million embezzled by portfolio manager Nick Heaslip, Claire follows the money trail to the Basque Country, where she partners with Detective Jon Beitia. As another body surfaces, the duo uncovers a network involving migrant smuggling, a questionable charity, and an Irish ex-convict. Together, they must piece together the puzzle before more lives are lost.

"This season introduces Iñigo Gastesi (La Infiltrada, La Quietud en la Tormenta, Contratiempo) as Inspector Jon Beitia, Charlotte Timmers (Safe Harbour, Cold Courage) as Lore Velasco, Dónall Ó Héalai (Crá, Arracht) as Detective Liam Boylan, Catherine Walker (Versailles, My Sailor, My Love) as Niamh Bennett, and Steve Wall (Black Doves, The English, Dune: Part 2) as Inspector Martin Dunlop."

The lead writer is Peter McKenna (Hidden Assets Seasons 1 and 2, Kin, Gangs of London) with writers on the team from previous seasons, Mary Fox and Marty Thornton (Gangs of London) and Susan E Connolly (Redemption), joined by emerging new writer Cara Loftus (Spilt Milk).

Hidden Assets is produced by Irish company Saffron Moon and Belgian co-producer Potemkino for RTÉ and Acorn TV (US and Canada); associated pre-sales include the BBC, Streamz, and the Basque broadcaster EITB.
