Sonnet is best known in her native country for her appearances on The Masked Singer and speaking about her new song, she says. "This song isn't just about a break-up. Through the metaphor of rain, I wanted to express what it feels like to live with the memories of someone you wish you could forget, the fear of loving again, and the question of whether you still have the strength to face yourself."

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I’m a singer, musical theatre actor, and songwriter from South Korea.

How would you describe your music?

I believe in the power of sincerity in music. Whether I’m performing an original song or covering someone else’s, I’d like to think you can hear that honesty in every note.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Whitney Houston was the first artist who made me dream of becoming a singer.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

I can remember - it was the musical Cats!

What was the first record you ever bought?

Mariah Carey on cassette tape. Lol.
