The 20th anniversary Sligo Live Festival opens on October 24 for ten nights of entertainment ranging from the musical likes of Sharon Shannon and Steve Earle to comedian Dylan Moran.
The first edition was held in 2005 and it's now the biggest, longest-running and most successful indie Festival in the West of Ireland with a reputation for a rounded music programme and comedy, with a dedicated following locally, nationally, and internationally.
Sligo Live is also noted for nurturing emerging artists, who each year are given a chance to perform before a live audience at the festival and many of whom have gone on to have successful careers in the music industry.

Highlights include the Sharon Shannon Big Band with special guests Steve Earle, Mundy, Camile O'Sullivan and Liam O’Maonlai at Knocknarea Arena on Saturday October 25 at 8.30pm.
Joining Sharon on stage will be an exceptional line-up of musicians, including Alan Connor, Richie Buckley and Gerry O’Connor.
Widely regarded as one of Ireland’s comedy greats, Dylan Moran will perform his latest stage shoe Dollar Ho at Hawk’s Well Theatre on Monday October 27.
Fansd can expect some choice servings of Dylan’s thoughts on everything and anything – delivered with his trademark poetic panache.
On the following Tuesday October 28 there’s acclaimed Canadian folk and Americana artist, Frazey Ford in Hawk’s Well Theatre.
Frazey Ford is one of Canada's most distinctive voices-a singer-songwriter whose music defies easy categorization.
