Colin Farrell takes the lead in the newly released trailer for Ballad of a Small Player, a tense psychological thriller arriving in Irish cinemas on 17 October before streaming on Netflix from 29 October.
Set in Macau, the film follows Lord Doyle (Farrell), a gambler drinking and betting his way through mounting debts while hiding from his past.
His luck appears to turn when he meets Dao Ming (Fala Chen), a casino worker with secrets of her own.

But Doyle soon discovers he is being tracked by private investigator Cynthia Blithe, played by Tilda Swinton, forcing him to confront what he has been running from.
Ballad of a Small Player is directed by Edward Berger, who previously won an Oscar for All Quiet on the Western Front and more recently directed Conclave.

The screenplay was written by Rowan Joffé and is based on the novel by Lawrence Osborne.
Ballad of a Small Player premiered at the Telluride Film Festival earlier this year and has been praised for its atmosphere and Farrell's haunting performance.
