Don't even bother checking the weather this Saturday - staying in is non-negotiable. With Taylor Swift appearing on The Graham Norton Show and the Cillian Murphy-led drama Steve landing on Netflix, there's a feast of must-watch TV ready to keep you glued to the screen.
Challengers, RTÉ2, 9pm
Bringing to mind the great wisdom that there's someone for everyone and two for most, Euphoria's Zendaya, The Crown's Josh O'Connor, and West Side Story's Mike Faist are the love triangle who meet as teenage tennis prodigies and still loom large in each other's lives 13 years later.
Tashi Duncan's (Zendaya) victory march to the top was halted at university by injury. She went on to become the coach, and later wife, of her college peer turned champion Art Donaldson (Mike Faist). Art is a US Open short of the Grand Slam and is trying desperately to get his mojo back as a wildcard at a challenger event in New Rochelle, New York.

On the other side of the draw is Patrick Zweig (Josh O'Connor), a down-at-heel journeyman whose stay in New Rochelle is expected to be characteristically brief. But Patrick used to be Art's best friend and Tashi's beau - past, present, and future are about to collide with a lot more than the $7,500 prize money at stake.

The Graham Norton Show, Virgin Media One, 10pm
This is what Saturday nights in are all about! Norton never disappoints with his star-studded couch line-ups, but this is quite the coup. Woman of the moment, Taylor Swift, will be in the studio to talk about her new album The Life of a Showgirl.
Oscar-winner and Irish acting legend Cillian Murphy, who is playing the head teacher in reform school drama Steve and actors Greta Lee and Jodie Turner-Smith, who are appearing together in sci-fi reboot Tron: Ares will also be having the chats.

Plus, another Irish icon, Domhnall Gleeson, talks about his new comedy role in The Office spin-off The Paper and Lewis Capaldi performs Something in the Heavens. Roll on Saturday!
Ghost, TG4, 10.15pm
Starring the late and great Patrick Swayze, along with acting royalty Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg, this cult classic was the highest-grossing film worldwide in 1990.
Ghost is a supernatural romantic drama about a murdered man who, as a ghost, seeks to protect his girlfriend from danger with the help of a psychic - and learns that love doesn't die, even when we do.
At the time, Swayze was riding high on his Dirty Dancing heartthrob status, and once again delivered sizzling chemistry with his on-screen love interest, played by Moore.

For that unforgettable pottery scene alone, set to Unchained Melody, Ghost remains a timeless classic that deserves to be watched over and over.
Steve, Netflix
Following a successful run in select cinemas nationwide, the well-received drama starring Cillian Murphy is now available on Netflix.
Based on Max Porter's best-selling 2023 novella Shy, Netflix's classroom drama Steve is a darkly funny and unflinchingly honest portrayal of young men trapped in a broken system.
Written by Porter himself, the lean 90-minute feature, set over a single night in the mid-'90s, offers an intimate snapshot of adolescents at a last-chance reform school facing closure. Abandoned by society, the classmates lean on headmaster Steve (an unwavering Cillian Murphy) as their last line of defence. But the war he's fighting is much closer to home. More on that later.

While the book tells the story through the eyes of troubled teen Shy (newcomer Jay Lycurgo), the film makes a bold and effective shift by placing the narrative on Steve. This masterful change in perspective allows Porter, who also serves as executive producer, to shine a powerful spotlight on how societal neglect has shaped the characters' lives.
