Traditional Irish band Bula Beag have released their new single, Gra Siori. We asked them the BIG questions . . .

The four piece, from Monaghan and Tyrone, is comprised of Cathal O'Mocháin, Aoibheann Treanor, Brendan Mallon and Patrick Corrigan.

Speaking about the new single, which is about the strong bond between a father and their child. singer Aoibheann says: "The song is essentially about the eternal love between a daughter or son and their father."

Bula Beag has played the Clonmany Festival, The Mary from Dungloe Festival and Sligo St Patrick's Day Festival.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

Aoibheann: My favourite thing to do is go to a concert/live gig

⁠I started playing the concertina when I was 11

My favourite band at the minute is Fontaines D.C.

How would you describe your music?

Brendan: I suppose it's a mixture of Irish folk/trad, indie/outlaw country . . . I'll let the listener describe our music!

Who are your musical inspirations?

Cathal: Noel and Liam Gallagher, Waylon Jennings, Jeff Lynne, Slade, Christy Moore, that's just a few of them!

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Aoibheann: First gig I ever went to I think was Leonard Cohen in Kilmainham in Dublin.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Cathal: Definitely Maybe by Oasis.

What's your favourite song right now?

Brendan: Don't Think Twice it's Alright by Bob Dylan. Billy Strings’ version is a particular favourite

Favourite lyric of all time?

Cathal: Too many to choose from but here's one - "Let me fly you to the moon, my eyes have always followed you around the room" - If I Had a Gun by Liam Gallagher.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Cathal: Tuesday's Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
