Gogglebox Ireland returns to Virgin Media Play and Virgin Media One tonight with new Ballymun family - the Flynn Fitzgeralds.

Mum Charlene, dad Paul, daughter Kayleigh, and son Rhys will make their debut on the show at 9pm this evening .

The hit format sees families and friends filmed as they gather around the TV to comment on what they are watching,

The series first aired on Channel 4 in 2013 and has since been picked up by TV channels around the world, including Australia, France and the US. Virgin Media began an Irish version of the format in 2016.

According to Virgin Media, Charlene, dad Paul, daughter Kayleigh, and son Rhys are "a tight-knit crew who love nothing more than settling in together for a night of soaps, sports, and debate".

Charlene is a proud Ballymun native, who once ran away with the carnival and spent nine months travelling across Ireland and the UK.

Paul was a stay-at-home dad until recent years and is a big sports fan, whose fondest memories of watching telly while growing up in inner city Dublin were around the 1990 and 1994 World Cups.

Kayleigh (19) is heading into her second year of Social Studies at TUD and is passionate about social justice and youth policy.

Rhys (12), who's just started 6th class, is a football fanatic like his dad, but also has a flair for science and baking. He’s already set his sights on studying Aviation Engineering and has taken part in engineering and biochemistry courses at DCU’s Centre for Talented Youth.
