Gavin James knocks Ed Sheeran off Irish No. 1 spot

Gavin James has knocked Ed Sheeran off the No. 1 spot on the new Irish album chart with his new album, Goldrush!

Sheeran has scored his seventh Irish No. 1 album last week with Play.

Goldrush! Is Dublin singer James' fourth studio album and it marks his third consecutive Irish chart topper after 2022’s The Sweetest Part and his 2020 EP Boxes.

To mark the release, James is currently playing a series of special events around Ireland. He launched the album with a residency at Doyle’s Corner in Phibsborough and an intimate release show at Róisín Dubh in Galway.

He is also appearing at several Golden Discs stores across the country for performances and signings, giving fans the chance to hear the new songs up close.

International dates in the Netherlands and the United States are scheduled to follow later this year.

Meanwhile, on the new singles chart, Olivia Dean’s Man I Need stays on top for the second week and Raye lands at No. 7 with Where Is My Husband?

On the Homegrown Chart, Kingfishr still on top while NewDad enter the top 20 with their latest single Pretty.
